A method of synthesis was proposed for alkoxydiazene oxide derivatives of malonic and cyanoacetic acids by the reaction of methyl (N'-methoxydiazene-N-oxido)acetate with sodium hydride and subsequent treatment with alkoxycarbonylating or cyanating reagents.
