Реферат: 1. Conditions have been found under which 1,2-di(α-thienyl)-1,2-ethanediol can be prepared electrochemically from α-thiophene aldehyde in yields up to 80%. 2. The reactions of the electrochemically generated radical anions of α-thiophene aldehyde are directed by solvation and by the formation of ion pairs with components of the electrolytic solution.
