1. A method was proposed for the preparation of 1,1-dimethoxy-1-buten-3-yne, and from it were synthesized a number of ketals of substituted ethynylketenes, which represent a new type of functional derivative of unsaturated compound. 2. A study was made of the acid hydrolysis of these compounds, which led to the formation of the esters of acids belonging to either the allene or acetylene series.
