Abstract: Novel five bispyridinium salts based on a naphthalene-2,7-diylbis(oxy) spacer were synthesized. The obtained compounds showed stronger biological activity against five strains of bacteria and two fungi as compared to modern biocides used in the pharmaceutical market.
