The present review is devoted to the reactivity of a special class of donor-acceptor (DA) cyclopropanes, namely cyclopropanes with the nucleophilic group at ortho-position of the donor aromatic substituent. Over the past few years, new synthetic approaches to these substrates were proposed and these cyclopropanes were applied to the synthesis of dihydrobenzofurans, dihydrobenzothiophenes, substituted chromanes and cyclopropacoumarin derivatives.
