1. The kinetics of the reaction of copolymerization of diphenylmethane diisocyanate with 1,4-butanedlol was investigated at 145 and 155 in nitrobenzene solution at concentrations of 0.352 and 0.0703 mole/ 1. 2. A study was made of the dependence on time of the growth of molecular weight of the polyurethan during copolymerization of diphenylmethane diisocyanate and 1,4-butanediol. 3. It was found that increasing concentration of the starting substances and rising temperature speed up the copolymerizatioa of diisocyanates with glycols. 4. The molecular weight of the polyurethan formed is found to rise with increasing concentration of starting substances and rising temperature. 5. In the later stages of copolymerization of diisocyanates with glycols the rise of moloculax weight is mainly due to mutual interaction of the pdyurethan macromolecules. 6. A new method of determination of molecular weight of polyurethansis based on determination of the terminal isocyanate groups, 7. Deterrminations were made of the velocity constants, temperature coefficients and activation energies of the reaction of diphenylmethane diisocyanate with 1,4-butanediol.
