Abstract: 1. A study was made of the hydrogenation of isopropyl- and isopropenyl-cyclopropanes-over palladized and platinized charcoals at 120° at a space velocity of 0.2. 2. Substantial differences were found in the behaviors of the two hydrocarbons in the reaction of catalytic hydrogenation: irrespective of the identity of the catalyst, isopropylcyclopropane is converted into 2,3-dimethyl-butane; in presence of palladium isopropenylcyclopropane is converted into 2-methylpentane, and in presence, of platinum it is-converted into a mixture of 2-methylpentane and 2,3-dimethylbutane.
