Abstract: Contrary to general belief, in reactions with bases organ: boron acids do not behave as hydrogen acids, i.e. as proton donors, but as acceptors of hydroxyl ions. The resulting salts are complex compounds contain quadricovalent negatively charged boron, e.g. [RB(OH)3]M.
