Abstract:
The influence of different hydrothermal treatment conditions of HZSM-5 on the n-hexan cracking activity was studied. The Bronsted and Lewis acid sites were characterized by diffuse reflectance IR spectroscopy using various probe molecules. The spectroscopic and catalytic results were discussed with the emphasis to the role of Lewis sites in the activity enhancement after steaming and in the mechanism of the paraffin cracking.
