Abstract:
For the first time, novel method for the preparation of previously undescribed substituted 2-arylfuro[3,2-b]chromen-3-ylacetic acids was developed. The considered approach includes multicomponent reaction of various arylglyoxals, 3-hydroxy-4H-chromen-4-ones, and Meldrum’s acid. The studied condensation is a telescoped process consisting of primary base-catalyzed interaction of starting compounds in acetonitrile and conclusive cyclization to target furo[3,2-b]chromen-3-ylacetic acids under acidic conditions. The readily available starting materials, convenient experimental procedure and simple isolation of the final products are advantages of presented method.
