Abstract: In recent years, S8 has gained significant attention as a versatile and atom-economical sulfur atom source in the synthesis of organic compounds. The aim of this review is to provide a comprehensive overview of the recent advances (over the past five years) in this field, highlighting the wide spectrum of sulfur-containing and non-sulfur-containing structures that can be constructed using S8.
