Abstract: The microreview describes recent advances in the synthesis of isoindole derivatives via pyrrole ring closure reactions. We report the latest selected examples (2012–2018) on the synthesis of isoindoles: multicomponent reactions, [3+2] cycloaddition of azomethine ylides and münchnones, and transition metal-catalyzed C–H activation reactions.
