Abstract: β-Diketones and β-oxo esters are thiocyanated with the NaSCN/(NH4)2 Ce(NO3)6 system or with pre-generated dirhodanogen. Malonates undergo thiocyanation only with the NaSCN/(NH4)2 Ce(NO3)6 system.
