Abstract: An approach to the synthesis of earlier unknown substituted 6-aryl-6,7-dihydro-2H-imidazo[5,1-c][1,2,4]triazole-3,5-diones was developed, which is based on the reaction of 5-arylaminomethyl-2,4-dihydro[1,2,4]triazol-3-ones with 1,1′-carbonyldiimidazole. The structure of one of the products was unambiguously established by X-ray diffraction analysis.
