Abstract: Potentiostatic electrolysis (divided cell, anode compartment) of 1-methyl- and 1-phenylpyrroles in the presence of sodium 4-nitro-pyrazolate and sodium 3-nitropyrazolate in MeCN/MeOH gave the corresponding 2-(azol-1-yl)pyrroles in 20–43% current and substance yields.
