Реферат: This review is almost entirely devoted to publications released in the current year 2023 (up to November 2023) and provides the digest of the latest achievements in the field of diverse applications of polymeric ionic liquids (PILs). The main purpose is to briefly show the breadth of PILs applications and prospects based on the latest research as a unique class of substances - one of the new generations of ionic liquids. Previously released studies (in 2022 alone) are used here (less than 18% of references) for supporting purposes only, to highlight trends that have occurred previously. The main points of growth in the current period were CO2 capture and catalytic applications; high-performance membranes; batteries and supercapacitors; dielectric elastomer actuators; medicine usages. Comparison with other polymers and materials is presented and the advantages of PILs in the applications considered are emphasized. Some of the theoretical aspects underlying the applications of PILs are outlined and compared. The review is recommended and will be of interest not only to the widest range of researchers but also to engineering scientists looking for the implementation of advanced knowledge in the field of ILs.
