Abstract: Polyvalent cations in HZSM-5 zeolites were found to be preferentially localized at the outer surface of microcrystallites (for Me3+) or inside the channels of the zeolite structure (for Me2+). This difference was explained by both steric and electrostatic hindrances arising for the tervalent cations.
