Abstract:
1. Selenonium nitroylides have been synthesized, and some of their conversions have been studied. 2. Selenonium dinitroylides are split by electrophilic reagents such as hydrogen halides, SO2C12, SO2FCl, PhSCl, N-halosuccinimides, and NO2 +BF4 − at the bond, yielding halothio or nitro derivatives of dinitromethane. 3. The α-nitro-substituted selenonium salt [Ph2+SeCH(NO2)2]FSO3 − has been synthesized for the first time, and it has been shown that it is easily split by various electrophiles at the bond.
