Abstract: The new electrochemical multicomponent assembling has been found: the electrolysis of arylaldehydes, malononitrile, and pyrazolin-5-ones in alcohols in an undivided cell in the presence of sodium bromide as mediator results in the formation of substituted 4-methyl-7-oxo-2-phenyl-5,6-diazaspiro[2.4]hept-4-ene-1,1-dicarbonitriles in 60–80% yields. The optimized reaction conditions and a mechanistic rationale for this electrocatalytic multicomponent assembling are presented.
