1. Under the action of potassium iodide on fluorohalodinitromethanes in 70% aqueous ethanol, there is a cleavage of the C- Hal bond (Hal=Cl, Br, I), with the formation of fluorodinitromethane. 2. The kinetics of the reaction of fluorochlorodinitromethane and fluorobromodinitromethane with KI in 70% aqueous ethanol was studied. These reactions proceed according to a total second order and are first order with respect to each component.
