Abstract: We report a method for the difluoromethylation of 3(5)-methylpyrazole, enabling the synthesis of two isomers: 1-(difluoromethyl)-3-methyl-1H-pyrazole and 1-(difluoromethyl)-5-methyl-1H-pyrazole. These compounds were subsequently used to prepare a range of 4-substituted N-difluoromethylated pyrazole derivatives—a transformation accomplished for the first time. The resulting derivatives serve as versatile precursors for the preparation of diverse N-difluoromethyl–substituted pyrazoles. Such compounds hold significant promise for applications across multiple research fields, ranging from materials science to medicinal chemistry.
