Three N-alkyl-5-fluoropyrazoles were prepared from the corresponding N-alkylpyrazoles (60–64% yields) by lithiation (BuLi) at the 5-position followed by treatment with perchloryl fluoride (FClO3) in the same vessel. The obtained compounds can be regarded as versatile building blocks for the development of medicinal and agrochemical agents.
