Abstract: For the first time, we elaborated a one-step approach for the synthesis of 2-arylfurans containing urea moiety. The proposed method is based on multicomponent condensation of various carbo- and heterocyclic enols, arylglyoxals and cyanamide. The considered approach is general and allows one to use the various enol derivatives as starting compounds. The advantages of the studied method are the use of readily available starting compounds, atom economy, easy work-up procedure without chromatographic purification. The structure of one of synthesized products was determined by X-Ray diffraction.
